In the fast-paced world of corporate governance, Board Members are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of data they must process to make informed decisions. Our inspiration for Board Lens stemmed from the need to transform disparate pieces of enterprise knowledge into actionable insights. By leveraging AI and knowledge graphs, we aim to create a tool that not only organizes data but also uncovers hidden connections and insights, helping Board Members focus on strategic decision-making rather than data gathering.

What it does

Board Lens serves as a strategic decision-support tool designed for Board Members. It integrates enterprise knowledge with AI-powered insights to offer a comprehensive, intuitive perspective of business operations. By seamlessly connecting employee data, project histories, industry trends, and corporate documentation through a knowledge graph, Board Lens generates real-time, tailored insights and strategic recommendations. Features include personalized dashboards, automated reports, and real-time alerts on significant changes and opportunities.

How we built it

We built Board Lens using the Modus API framework, integrating the power of AI and knowledge graphs to create a robust and flexible platform:

  1. Modus API Framework: The core of our application, Modus provides the necessary infrastructure to seamlessly integrate AI models with our data sources.

  2. Knowledge Graph Integration: We utilized Neo4j to construct a knowledge graph that maps organizational data—linking employees, projects, documents, and industry information in a structured, easily navigable format.

  3. AI Model Integration: Leveraging pre-trained AI models through Modus, we applied machine learning for predictive analytics, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection, enhancing the relevance and accuracy of insights.

  4. User Interface Design: We designed a user-friendly dashboard that provides an intuitive experience, allowing Board Members to easily access and interpret the insights generated, regardless of their technical proficiency.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development of Board Lens, we encountered several challenges:

  • Data Normalization: Integrating and normalizing data from various sources to fit into a coherent knowledge graph structure required significant effort.
  • AI Model Customization: Adapting pre-trained AI models to fit the unique requirements of our application necessitated extensive optimization.
