BNFOthon Prompt #6

What it does

Our submission is a plan for an algorithm that congregates metabolite data from multiple databases.

How we built it

Identified problems from user perspective, and attempted to meet the needs of scientists who may eventually use the program. Plans involve the use of Storyboarding, IPO and flow-charting, venn diagraming and written pseudocode, which lay the framework for an algorithm. Challenges we ran into

One of the limitations of this project include a lack of functional code, however we believe the plans we've created are substantial enough to translate into a fully functional program.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to curate an action plan that outlines the step-by-step processes for development of an algorithm that compiles data from multiple databases. We worked through the first hand challenges that scientists in the field are experiencing when it comes to metabolite research, and expedited a plan to simplify means of research. With each member of our team coming from a different background in STEM (Bioinformatics/Chemistry/Computer Science/Engineering), we were able to collaborate and give "expert opinions" in the subject matter we're proficient in.

What we learned

We familiarized ourselves with concepts including web scraping, importing python libraries, implementing vector containers, design thinking, and SOLID principles in coding in order to make our plan competitive, and execute efficient results.

What's next for BNFOthon '22 Team 2

With this written plan of action, the next steps include testing potential prototypes and implementing the given methods in order to produce a functional algorithm.## What it does
