Inspiration
What it does
Rover controlled by app on phone.
How I built it
Built the rover circuit, which powered two servo motors and added the bluetooth component in order to control the amount of power each motor received, allowing the rover to go straight, left or right.
Challenges I ran into
The first challenge I ran into was the code. I have minimal experience with coding so figuring out the code was the first challenge and I spent an entire afternoon fixing one small bug. The second challenge I ran into was implementing the bluetooth and making it functional. The bluetooth feather is very fidgety it took a lot of trial and error in order to wire the bluetooth component and have the motors listen to the commands from the phone.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Getting this rover to work properly was such a happy moment, especially after struggling with this class all semester. When motors first started turning, I was overjoyed.
What I learned
I learned how to use the blue fruit feather and control servo motors using bluetooth
What's next for Bluetooth Controlled Rover: Ralph
We are currently in talks with Uber and lyft for rolling these out as part of their fleet.
