Inspiration

Social media is easily a drain in the eyes and a form of distraction. We want to change this.

What it does

Our product takes a creative approach to encourage people to use social media in a healthy and enriching manner. As well as show your personality in a different way.

Encouraging critical thinking, creative writing and quality over quantity content. Giving our users a controlled way to present their unique perspectives and interests.

How we built it

We designed the frontend using the React framework, the backend was designed using Django to support both the API, database development and user authentication features.

Challenges we ran into

Due to time constraints and budget constraints we weren't able to deploy the platform. However, we were able to deploy it in our local machines.

This is also the first time a majority of our team have participated in a hackathon and delivered a project in a short amount of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We had no experience in React and Django, and we are proud that we were able to create our Figma design into actual code.

What we learned

We learned about Django and managed to create a working backend database, api’s, user authentication, areas of whcih we had no experience, in which we had no experience in.

We also learnt how to connect the database and implement our design in Figma to actual code in JSX and TypeScript. Our frontend team had no experience in this regard, and now feel quite comfortable in it.
