BlazeBreaker

BlazeBreaker is a network of nodes that continuously monitors forests and sends crucial data, detects wildfires just as they start and puts them out before they cause devastation locally and globally.

We love nature.

What it does

Detects, notifies, and puts out wildfires before they get out of control.

How we built it

Using smart sensors to detect key features of the start of a fire or the precursor conditions that lead up to it, then processing the data as well as sending them via a network to a command center application. For fire-extinguishing, a nozzle and mist system was designed to effectively spread collected rain from cooler seasons and cooling the ambient temperature of the forest to prevent the spread of the fire.

Challenges we ran into

Self-isolation and having to split tasks, working remotely.
