BlackJoy

I created Black Joy to build a space where Black people can celebrate our culture, achievements, and community. Users answer two fun verification questions before accessing the app, ensuring engagement with Black culture. The app uses JavaScript for dynamic content, Firebase for authentication, and hashtag tabs to organize posts and forums. I learned how to design interactive flows, manage user authentication, and debug Git while collaborating with teammates. The main challenge was keeping content hidden until users passed verification, but overcoming it taught me how to build a secure, engaging, and community-centered platform that uplifts and connects Black people.
