We are developing an app on blockstack that allows users to stream music from other users without a third party.
In today's world, most people use a variety of messaging apps, such as Facebook Messenger, iMessage, WhatsApp, and GroupMe, to communicate with friends, family, and colleagues. This can be frustrating due to the differing features on these apps and the inconvenience of having to switch between several apps in order to communicate with people. Additionally, users are forced to create a separate account with each centralized messaging service (i.e., Facebook, Apple, Google, etc.), which means that the messaging service ultimately has control over the user's data. Our project, BlockChat, aims to build a messaging platform on a decentralized internet via Blockstack that will eliminate all of these issues for users. BlockChat will leverage the power of Blockstack's decentralized internet to enable cross-compatibility of different messaging apps built for Blockstack. Furthermore, users will have full ownership and control over their messaging data through their Blockstack IDs.
