Inspiration
This week, I went to the bistro and had to wait over half an hour then had my order missed twice in two days, then didn't get cheese on my burger so I knew that their system wasn't working.
What it does
It allows you to order ahead of time from our website and to see all of the menu items online.
How we built it
We built it using React, HTML, CSS, and JS.
Challenges we ran into
None of us have ever done front end or back end, or even made large projects in JS. Two of us basically had to learn JS for the first time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We won the cup stacking, and worked extremely hard even if we did fail. This gave us the time to really work on these skills that would not be taught for quite a while in class and to practice large project team environments.
What we learned
We learned quite a bit of JS and HTML. We learned how to work with Git and Github for collaboration. We also learned that there are quite a few things that you can't easily do without using wrappers, and that sleep is important.
What's next for Bistro App
For the future we want to actually connect the backend to the frontend and expand on our original plan to make a full Bistro app for groceries, ordering, and knowing how busy it is at a given time.
