Inspiration
With the amount of events happening around campus its hard to keep track of what is happening thus we built a tool to assist with the process.
How we built it
We built the project using Next.js and ShadCN to handle most of the heavy lifting, and we used Drizzle ORM to manage the database component.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we faced were mainly because we didn't fully understand the original technology choice for the project. As a result, we decided to switch to Next.js to help us quickly prototype the solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a working MVP in a short amount of time, which allows us to rapidly prototype without getting stuck on ideas.
What we learned
We learned a lot about web development and how to take advantage of modern libraries like Next.js and ShadCN. These tools simplified the process of creating web interfaces by providing a set of pre-made components. Using Next.js also helped manage the multi-page nature of an events application.
What's next for BisionsConnect
Next, we plan to enhance BisionsConnect by adding more features for better user interaction and scalability. We will focus on improving the event management system, integrating real-time communication tools, and expanding the platform's capabilities to support a broader range of users. Additionally, we'll explore ways to optimize performance and continue refining the user experience based on feedback.
