What it does
Binder is a centralized hub that allows users to bypass the struggles of attempting to read manga and manhua across multiple websites that may be missing chapters or not be translated into a language they understand. We have three webpages: Monitor, Search, and Library.
On Monitor, you can see what you've been reading recently, the status of the most recently used website you were reading on, and your progress.
Search allows you to browse new titles and find out where you can read them.
Through the Library tab, you can see your saved titles and go back to old favorites.
How we built it
We utilized both Flutter and multiple libraries such as flutter_svg, Google fonts, and a persistent navigation bar to create a seamless user experience. It's rich widget library and hot reload helped us speed up our workflow. Flutter's ability to use a single codebase for both iOS and and Android, allowed us to rapidly produce a product for all devices. All of our logos and design elements were created in Figma and designed by us.
Challenges we ran into
Prior to starting our project, multiple of our teammates hadn't used Flutter before. This led to challenges with setting up our development environments and getting everyone up-to-speed with a new tool in a short amount of time.
