As computer science students, we've all experienced the pain of waiting in long queues for office hours. 100+ students spam click trying to join the queue as it opens, but many have to wait multiple hours to get help. And some are unable to join office hours before they end. That's why we bring to you a revolution in queue technology! With the Better Queue, students will have shorter wait times, more students will get help, and students will get more time with instructors. The Better Queue works by sorting student inquiries by similarity and grouping similar problems into the same instructor Zoom room for office hours. Sorting these OH also allows them to be recorded and saved for future referral and more efficient reviewing. We made this happen through the use of a back end coded in Python that leverages ChatGPT and an intuitive website created on Wix Velo. Although we ran into challenges with the database server not responding, we did our best to finish the project regardless. We're proud of learning how to use Wix, storing and displaying dynamic data on the queue website, and utilizing ChatGPT for NLP/classification.
