Inspiration

As teens and young adults we know how overwhelming it can be to see these huge movements arise and not know how to help and stand by these movements.

What it does

Better Allies takes you through a series of scenarios all related to BLM where you will make choices. Based on the choices you make you will get rescources and quick history facts that generally aren't taught in school.

How we built it

We created the website with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript. The Logic for the game was implemented in JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Since this is an international hack/policython the time difference was quite challenging to manage.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to submit what we were able to make with the time constraints we had as it took awhile to come up with an idea and actually get our hands on the project.

What we learned

We learned that communication plays a crucial role in the end result and that you do take some risks in teaming up with people from around the world.

What's next for Better Allies

We want to expand Better Allies so it lets the user choose from different subjects such as "How to be a better ally to the AAPI community" and "How to be a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community".
