Inspiration
We were inspired by the difficulty to directly compare beaches to one another. This website fixes this problem by allowing users to directly compare the images from these different beaches.
What it does
This website takes beach data and images from around the world and allows the user to filter the beaches by location.
How we built it
This website was created using HTML, CSS and Javascript with the help of templates.
Challenges we ran into
There were a couple difficulties when completing this project, namely getting the filter to work. With so many filter parameters and filtering not just the images but also the related title and description, the filter became much more complicated than originally intended.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of getting this project completed within the allotted time, especially considering the difficulties when dealing with teammates from different time zones.
What we learned
This project gave us a lot of experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript. These are skills we will surely be using in future coding projects.
What's next for BeachBulletin
Other features that could be added in future iterations, for example integrating an open source map API to view the relative distances of the beaches from one another. However, considering the time crunch with this project, we decided it was not feasible to complete this on time so focused on other aspects of the design.
