Inspiration

We were inspired by the difficulties students face making friends and connections on a campus which has so many people. There are so many like minded people looking to make friends, in such close proximity to one another, but its so hard to take that step to meet one another.

What it does

Be-Friend connects people who are likely to be good friends, and gives them on campus activities they can go to together and hang out at. It aims to bring people together, and to give them a small push to break the ice and make a connection.

How we built it

We built Be-Friend using Gemini API, a TypeScript Website, and a Python backend.

Challenges we ran into

We faced difficulties due to our inexperience with web development and design, and our process was filled with google searches, tutorials, and AI queries.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the visual style of the website, and of the functionality of the matching system. This is something we all would personally have loved to use, and bringing it to life is very fulfilling.
