Inspiration We were inspired by our passion for food and struggles to make meals as on-campus students at GMU.
What it does: The user inputs a list of ingredients they want to use up (expiring soon, or just something they want to use) and the database will search for a recipe that aligns with most, hopefully, all, of the ingredients that the user listed.
How we built it: We used GitHub for collaboration purposes and language we used Python and the Python Library TaiPy (our track).
Challenges we ran into mainly parsing and just figuring out our method of executing our idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We were able to read and parse the CSV file and learned to use a database for the output.
What we learned how to use TaiPy, GUIs, and how to collaborate on GitHub with minimal merge issues.
What's next for Recip.io: More testing and a larger database with recipes. For testing purposes, the sample was only 12 cases, we may include more as we update this code!
