Inspiration

By 2045, Indonesia is expected to see a boom in its young population, with about 64% of its nearly 297 million people being of working age. To make the most of this growth, we need skilled and educated people. Central to this education are books. Yet many young Indonesians face challenges: they can't easily find good books, they don't know where to get them, and they want to connect with others who share their interests. This is where our story starts. As young folks, books played a huge role in our lives, teaching us and sometimes even guiding us through tough times. We know how powerful books can be. We also saw that many of our friends wanted to share or get books, but didn't have an easy way to do it. So, we decided to make a platform to help. Our main goal is simple: make giving and getting books easy. But we want to do more. We're also thinking of adding places on our platform for people to talk about books, write reviews, and connect with other readers.

What it does

Currently, we're providing platform to donate and receive books. With a note that we also make it mobile friendly and seamless in terms of user experiences

How we built it

We built it using Next.js, firebase, and chakra UI

Challenges we ran into

  1. With just the two of us, the design part was tough because we're not designers. But we did our best!
  2. Sometimes it appears unexpected errors. The most painful one is when it have something to do with dependencies

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Finished the MVP and learn so much from this. It's our first Hackathon :D

What we learned

  1. Having Fun Matters: Working on something we care about made the project exciting.
  2. Work Fast, Learn Fast: We had tight timelines, but we made sure not to cut corners.
  3. Accessibility first: We want to make sure that our app is working on mobile devices because we target those in rural areas, too. And we did
