Badger Simulator

Inspiration

We want to use VR and other techniques to help freshmen learn more around our campus quickly.

What it does`

It simulates the whole process of getting offers, enrolling in classes, and living on campus.

How we built it

We use HTML Canvas with Javascript and a little bit CSS. We use Google Firebase to serve our website and use Domain.com to get our own special domain name.

Challenges we ran into

We have no idea about HTML Canvas, and the order of triggers of functions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It looks cool!!!! We're really proud that we can make a game with "VR techniques".

What we learned

We learn a lot about JS and how to build a game on websites.

What's next for Badger Simulator

Add more locations with descriptions or Google Street View and a longer storyline. Add more css to make it looks better.

I designed the whole framework of this game. I also used Javascript and HTML5 Canvas to manage all those functions that generate scenes to make a timeline and also keep the canvas updated.

Chentao Wang
I provide some algorithms and some structures for this game. The most contribution part of me is designing our beloved Bucky Badger in pixels!

Jiazhi Yang
In terms of backend-work, I created and worked on many individual js objects and connecting them to modals with css/html. Regarding front-end, I helped set up the background and borders of the website setting and helped develop the WASD keyboard movement.

Tambre Hu
I used Javascript and css to create modals for dinning and dinner storylines and tied the modals to the main game page. I was also the main contributor to the css development. Finally, I helped take 3D photos for different scenes to immerse users through virtual reality.
