Inspiration

Our journey began in the classroom, where the theoretical concepts of graph theory intrigued us. The idea of applying these principles to real-world problems sparked our curiosity and led us to this project. What We Learned

Throughout this project, we delved deep into the practical applications of graph theory. We discovered the power of these mathematical structures in modeling and solving complex network problems, far beyond the confines of our textbooks.

How We Built It

We built our project by integrating graph theory with linear programming. This combination allowed us to construct and analyze a network of nodes representing the city’s energy infrastructure. We translated the city’s layout into a graph, with edges and vertices representing the various components of the heating system.

Challenges Faced

One of the biggest challenges was moving from theory to practice. We had to adapt the clean, idealized models from class exercises to the messy reality of urban planning. Data serialization, algorithm optimization, and ensuring scalability were hurdles we overcame through perseverance and innovation.
