Awesome Resume Builder

Inspiration

A resume is used by job applicants across the globe to to list their background, skills, qualifications and accomplishments. A resume is also usually accompanied by a customized cover letter, which is used to express interest in a specific position at a company while drawing attention to the qualifications that are most relevant to the role on the resume. A well written resume is one of the most important things for applying to new jobs, internships or externships. We use different format of resume according to different tech stack and experience depending upon which role we are applied for. For this reason I build this application called Awesome Resume Builder.

What it does

This application basically takes input from the user and according to the input the application generate a suitable resume for the user. Not only that the user can customize the resume incase of color, specific font, heading size etc. Also user can drag & drop a particular section anywhere in the page that looks more better in a resume. After completion of all the favorable customization the user can easily download a suitable pdf documentation of the resume by clicking on download button.

How we built it

This application is build on HTML, CSS & JavaScript. This application is based on simple html script and all the style, function is done using CSS and JavaScript programming.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge is that make this application more simple to the user and much more productive. As we see lots of resume generator are not free or not have proper customization, more than that not have any unique download option. For this reason this is the most important and challenging to make this application free, open source and proper downloadable.

What we learned

Here we learn two main things that is how make your resume more professsional and effective. And the another thing is that about best programming skill on frontend, styling.

What's next for Awesome Resume Builder

The next step of this application is to add more customization option, also accessible to the users. Not only that we welcome all the beginners and new contributors to contribute our open project.
