Inspiration

What it does

  • puts the player in space
  • the goal is to obtain points (by shooting down asteroids), staying alive (not getting hit by asateroids)

How we built it

  • pure java + java frameworks (jpanel, graphics2D, etc...)
  • libresprite for visuals

Challenges we ran into

  • initially started w/ pygame, didn't have enough experience > wasted ~3 hours on it

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • we were able to: > complete our first hackathon > persevere despite early challenges > make a fun game! :)

What we learned

  • python sucks 🤮 (getters and setters especially :p)
  • hackathons are fun!
