AskDr is a "secure" (2048-bit RSA key) web application optimized for mobile devices, created to bring awareness about Cardio Vascular Disease(CVD). This also highlights how some easy lifestyle changes - eating heart healthy diets, doing some simple exercises, and refrain from smoking and alcohol and how warding off stress can keep your heart healthy preventing CVD.
AskDr is not just another application where you have to input your information to get your results, it connects to health data repositories like Microsoft(R) HealthVault(R), EMRs and AskDr HealthCache to keep track of your health and provide on-going alerts, suggestions and advice.
Since Microsoft(R) HealthVault(R) already has a host of equipment (ex. weight scales, vital signs, BP equiment, AllScripts lab and others) which are directly connected - you do not have to enter data in another application and keep track of it! Stepping on a digitally connected scale supported by Microsoft(r) HealthVault(R) (very big list to chose from!); or using vital signs monitors that are supported by Microsoft(R) HealthVault(R); or going to AllScripts lab (and others) for your lipid tests will automatically update your score and provide you data. Life is easier with one less data entry screen!!
The application is production ready and is waiting for Microsoft to approve the application as a Microsoft(R) HealthVault(R) tool.
