Inspiration: Due to the nature of the theme of this jam, I thought of some older school games present in arcades.
What it does: This game requires two players, a player on the left of the keyboard who uses the keys [WSAD, X and C] and a player on the right who uses the arrow keys and J and K. The controls look like this:
WSAD/Arrow Keys: Movement, Jumping X/J: Basic Attacks C/K: Ultimate Move (Requires the white bar under the health bar to be completely filled)
How we built it: I made this game in Unity and I used open sourced fonts for the texts. I made all of the art in game and did all of the programming by myself.
Challenges we ran into: Before this I didn't have much of any experience in Unity at all. This was basically my first ever complete Unity game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: I'm proud of the fact it's a fully standalone playable game that any 2 people can try out at any time.
What I learned: A lot of nuances with unity, how to tackle problem solving and debugging in Unity.
What's next for Arcade Samurai Game: I will remake this project again but not over the course of just 24 hours, I think this opportunity has broadened my understanding of the engine and game development as a whole.
