AR-Expo

Inspiration

The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled us to stay indoors. Although some companies are able to adjust to the circumstances, it has been quite difficult for Automobile industry. We at VirtualEXPO have created an app where you will be able to visit an automobile expo at your home and even get the experience of a virtual expo.

What's Our solution

During the reopening after the lockdown we noticed that not all are abiding by the social distancing rules and hence we propose that we have the events in-doors, from the comfort of our homes. This avoids the risk of getting infected and succumbing to the coronavirus.

How our Project uphold equality

Even in the normal pre-covid times not all stature of persons were invited and allowed in an expo, on the other hand very few Automobile Expos are held in India and other third world country. So we built an Augmented Reality application that is accessible to one and all of all the countries. We provide free services and our application does not have any downloading charges.

What it does

AR-EXPO is a comprehensive application that has :- AR-based Coursework- We have created AR based models of various cars and displayed them in an exhibition. We also provide the basic information about the cars available at our expo. We have further created a website to promote our application so as to get more audience and connect the customers with the buyers.

How I built it

We build the AR components using EchoAR and Unity. I summoned the models from poly google. I built the website with the help of wix.com

Challenges I ran into

There was a huge time constraint. And I had to manage a lot on my own. Finding the required models was an headache. However I was able to track down some famous cars and display them. Using wix to create a website was completely new for me, did run into some problems but managed to overcome them.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We successfully used EchoAR to create the project. We also were able to create a fully functional user-friendly app. I am happy that i was able to use wix to build a website.

What I learned

We learnt the use of EchoAR. And was able to get familiar with wix. The learning was priceless.

What's next for AR-Expo

We plan to develop and showcase more car models and enlarge the same into the bike industries. Furthermore we would like to create a museum for air vehicles and include other futuristic concept automibiles.
