Inspiration

This pandemic has made every one of us stay back at home. As a result, most of us cannot celebrate our birthdays, like we do in those good old days. So does MLH' s birthday this time. So why don't we blow out the Candle on Cake in the AR right in our home and celebrate the birthday. That's how I came up with this idea of building an AR filter to celebrate MLH's 7th birthday.

What it does

As soon as you launch this AR filter on Instagram you can view a 3D cake appearing right in front of you. If you don't like the default cake, don't worry we have two other options. Select a cake you like. Now it's time to light up the candle. Tap on the screen to light up the candle. Once it's time, to blow out the candle click on the candle flame to blow off and let the celebration begin.

How I built it

I have made this filter using Facebook's Spark AR studio.

Challenges I ran into

Finding 3d models and templates was hard. However, after small research over the internet, I was able to find few 3d models and artwork required in some other open projects and websites.
