Inspiration
It’s always a headache to download a specific app or go to a different website for every service you use or call shops or dentists to schedule appointments.
So, we thought it would be helpful to make just one appointment app & website to schedule appointments for different services nearby. Also, clients can make money from scheduling appointments using our app as a reward. Every time the client schedules an appointment, merchants will give us (developers) some money for making their clients’ life easier and then we will split the money between us and the clients.
What it does
Basically, clients use our app/website to create accounts then search for businesses nearby, such barber shops, dentists, hospitals, ..etc. Then they pick one and schedule an appointment that’s available.
How we built it
We used (Swift, PHP, MySQL) to make an interface for the users to register and use the service.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges that we have faced was to send/retrieve data from MySQL through PHP as a bridge between swift and the database. Receiving the result from PHP was a challenge due to the thread crashing, but we got it taken care of.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
When we started, we had ZERO swift experience, but we really proud of what we have learned and done. Now, we feel we’re familiar enough to dig deeper into Swift.
What we learned
We learned how to make IOS apps using Swift. Also, we learned how to pass data from Swift to PHP and get a response from it.
What's next for Appointment Application
We give the merchants the ability to control the available schedule and change it whenever they need to. Making the system more interactive using database. Using Google maps API’s to make the system more friendly.
