Apollo - Smart Assistant for Emergency
In 2017 Zion and I had a Kitchen fire. Our mom who suffers from Anosmia forgot to turn off the cooktop. The sprinklers activated and started flooding the house. Calling emergency and by the time fire support arrived it was too late.Damage was done.It takes time for the 911 assistants to assist and then the needed personnel to arrive. Is there a smarter solution which can take the call, extract needed info, classify and dispatch to the nearest personnel for support? is there a smarter solution to assist the recent school shooting in florida and provide parents an update on what is happening without needing human focus?
Apollo is a smart assistant platform for emergency support.
How we built it
We built it by integrating with twillo api and python web servers. Emergency calls are forwarded by twill api to the Apollo receiver servers who record the call details and extract needed information and saves the details.Apollo classifier classifies the severity.Apollo dispatcher looks up the severity high reports and matches them to the police/fire stations just like uber.
What was hard
Installing python libraries and having it work is not easy Not knowing classification ,extraction we had to spend time to learn Designing a flow that is smart took time
What are you proud of
We have a great plan and working demo of the call being recorded ,details extracted and ability to lookup info from the website. This is an almost complete solution
What we learned:
We learned natural language apis and processing and how automation was a reality.
What's next for Apollo
Apollo should be a complete solution removing mundane work and ensuring help is within second.Accuracy of classification and extraction must be reliable.Integrating with drones or solutions that can be provided without requiring personnel to drive through traffic making it a fully automated solution is the future of Apollo 2.0
