Inspiration
Virtual assistants, helping the user, study bunny
What it does
Alien virtual assistant with periodic motivational quotes, and a task management system that encourages the user with coin rewards, which can be spent on extra game customisation features.
How we built it
We collaborated using Unity, created all images/art using Krita and all sounds/music using FL Studio. We began by creating all the necessary art and deciding the layout in Unity and then coding to make all the elements work.
Challenges we ran into
Being able to pick up the alien and slimes and throw them was difficult to do to begin with because we had to learn how to maniplate object forces. There were also issues with toggling between UI elements and managing the hierarchy was difficult due to the amount of UI objects there are.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The music and sound effects perfectly fit the vibe. The alien and slimes can be picked up and thrown which is a fun extra feature. They also change facial expressions and make noises while doing so. The UI is incredibly customisable, with RGB colour sliders for the buttons and backgrounds. With 7 backgrounds to buy as well as the original, and the two slime pets, the player personality is great. The music and sound effects volume can be changed and the alien can be named if you wish.
What we learned
We learned how to use Unity Collab and how to add sound effects.
What's next for Anti-procrastinalien
We believe it would be useful to have as a mobile app as well and give notification quotes and reminders.
