Inspiration
We like Anime and animated movies more than we like anything else. So we made something that converts any video or movie into animation.
What it does
It's based on White-box Facial Cartoonization model by SystemErrorWang. It splits your video into frames, applies the model to each frame and stiches all the frames up into a nice animated video.
How we built it
We used imageio library for frame manipulation, skimage for resolution management and matplotlib for animations.
Challenges we ran into
We had some trouble finding the right format for video conversion. We also struggled with video encoders and finally decided to move it to Google Colab to make it accessible to everyone.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to convert our favorite clips to animations.
What we learned
We learnt how videos are encoded and how encoders and decoders work.
