"In college, I grappled with my identity and family connections, but was often cut short by family issues and losses. Traditional paper documentation proved unreliable. While discussing this with fellow hackers at ShellHacks, it became clear that the current media today often feels like a waste of time and can be disempowering. Hence, Ancestral Fire. Imagine a way to preserve life experiences, memories, lessons, and family stories for future generations to access, fostering empowerment and understanding. It's a unique opportunity to unearth personal history that remains untold, revealing a part of our past often overlooked." I made this app using Android Studio and Firestore. I built Ancestral Fire in order of how the user would experience the app. First with login, then to the family ledger of journals, and finally to the submitting journal page. Since I was a solo team and had little experience in Firestore it was definitely a time crunch
