Inspiration:
One of our team members has a cousin who is missing part of her arm. This was to work as a concept specifically for people with similar limb loss but for one fifth the price of other products on the market.
What it does:
The Amputee Mouse acts exactly like a mouse would for a normal computer but does not require a hand to operate.
How we built it:
A lot of trial and error
Challenges we ran into:
Using C++ to control the software side of the project
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Finishing the project within the allotted time
What we learned:
A lot about python and Arduinos
What's next for Amputee Mouse:
We would like to continue working on this project with the IEEE club at ISU to create a full prototype and test it in the field.
