Inspiration
We were concerned about the well-being of the elders due to sanitary crises such as covid.
What it does
It provides the elders with a fast and accessible device used for sending short messages. This is especially beneficial for senior citizens living in a senior's house and needs particular assistance.
How we built it
We built it using Arduino, and Raspberry Pi, as well as a Bluetooth module as an agent of commutation and data, transfer between the two devices.
Challenges we ran into
We had some difficulties connecting the Bluetooth serial to the Raspberry Pi, setting the GUI, and managing all of the machines' requests at the same time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we found a way to provide our senior citizens with quick, and life-saving helping devices. Additionally, we are very proud of our commitment to work during this challenging weekend. We were to grow personally and as a team, and explore new possibilities.
What we learned
We learned that even the seemingly easy projects could take more time than expected. We have encountered many walls during this competition but have managed to always come out strong from those challenges.
What's next for AlertMe
The next step for AlertMe will be developing a customer-based design for the product. Add more features to the software, and engage in on-field trials for our device.
