Inspiration

This project is inspired by success stories of chatbot services as a personal assistant in many fields (education, business, industry, etc). However, by limitations in chatbot, we also inspired by the powerful of recommendation systems in such big web services like Netflix, Udemy, Alibaba etc.

What it does

The Alatuul gives services to hajj pilgrims especially the non arabic speakers (statistically 1,4 millions people) about anything related the Hajj performing, e.g. List of Du'as, reminder of tawaf counter of circling, location services, and specific recommendation such as foods, special places around Al Haram during hajj.

How we built it

We built by combining between the flexibility and engagement gaining of chatbot and accuracy of recommendation systems, we propose Alatuul , a conversational recommendation systems that gives services to the user, the hajj pilgrims. The Alatuul is developed using software waterfall flows method.

Challenges we ran into

The limitation of Chatbot to solve alternatives questions by user. How to bypass chatbot output to recommender systems. limitation of Hajj statistics only up to year 2019 (before pandemic).

What we learned

We learned that Hajj is a huge-complex activity that need to manage very well The servant of two holy mosques is a really great person with incredible responsibility. We need other systems and ideas multi fields to support this hajj program
