Airline Time Series Analysis (by EeveeOps)

Inspiration

We all like traveling, so we found a dataset about airlines that fits our interests.

What it does

Our project is about forecasting the amount of international and domestic flights in the future, as well as taking a look at covid's impact on the flight industry of today.

How we built it

We built it using a time-series analysis model called prophet to forecast and predict the number of flights in the future, given our data.

Challenges we ran into

Changing the different weights of the model was based off of.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our model was able to closely predict 2024 Domestic flights with a 7% error.

What we learned

We learned the impact covid had on the airline industry. We learned how to use time-series analysis to forecast the future.

What's next for Airline Time Series Analysis

We could tweak this model in the future to be more accurate and predict different areas of the airline industry.
