Problem

There are many disasters happening around the world whether it be because of climate change, wars, or famine. I wanted to find a way to help people affected by these tragedies, and giving the first responders and non-profits the resources to be able to help them.

What it does

AidGo is meant to be a decentralized platform that allows users to donate and receive funds, join volunteer groups, and track their donations in real-time with the help of the blockchain. The central website is meant to be a way to donate or request assistance and from there people can donate funds to your cause. This is so that humanitarian aid can apply and be processes quickly before being sent to people.

How we built it

The website was built using primarily html and js and the code for the smart contract was written in rust.

Challenges we ran into

It was pretty difficult to integrate the smart contract with the web application. In the end, it wasn't able to work properly, but the UI and Login Pages were able to work.

What's next for AidGo

There is a lot left for AidGo to do. Firstly completing the blockchain backbone of the app is necessary and will open up possibilities for donations, resources, and people to send information in hopes to volunteer. Having the blockchain involved will allow for smart contracts and a much more direct link between volunteers and the non-profits.
