Inspiration
We were inspired to do this idea, since many people often feel overwhelmed with tasks including us at times.
What our project does
To solve this issue, we developed the AI Task Prioritizer which orders your tasks from most important(top) to least important(bottom), so you will be able to focus on what's most important. This helps users feel less overwhelmed and gets them back on their feet.
How we built it
To build our website, we used Visual Studio Code as our main coding platform, we also used a variety of extensions to make our website better/easier such as bootstrap, flask and much more. How it works is you first type in the name, date due, and description of a task, then click the add button which sends to request to the backend program(python), which then uses openAI to prioritize those tasks. We also have buttons to delete tasks.
Challenge we ran into
A challenge we ran into was setting up our software and actually applying our frontend/back end programs. This was due to the fact that this was one of our first hackathons, and in past competitions, we were usually just given a prompt and a extremely convenient coding platform. However, in this hackathon, we had to set everything up by ourself.
Accomplishment
Something that we are really proud was our dedication during the project. As we said before, this is our first hackathon, which introduced us into a new environment which took us a long time to adapt to, but through our dedication, we still managed to develop a working final product.
What we learned
During the AI Hackathon, we learned how to connect frontend and backend code, and how to create a functioning website. We also learned about a ton of cool extensions and addons that made coding a better experience.
Next steps
Despite during a great job on our project, there is still a lot of things we didn't have time to put in our project. One of these things is a schedule maker, which would also use AI to generate a schedule for you. This would be useful since our app would also help people balance their time on top of letting them feel less overwhelmed. We would've also added other tools that would help students learn better.
