AI Font Generator Add-on

AI Font Generator Add-on is a plugin for Adobe Express that enables users to recognize and generate fonts from images. By uploading an image containing text, the add-on automatically detects the fonts used and recommends similar web fonts, which can be inserted into the Adobe Express canvas with one click.

Inspiration

We wanted a faster way to identify fonts from images — something simple, smart, and built right into Adobe Express.

What it does

AI Font lets users upload an image and instantly identifies the font using an AI-powered API. It adds matching text directly into the Adobe Express editor.

How we built it

We started the project over the weekend using the Adobe Express Document Sandbox API. We built a simple UI for uploading images and connected it to an AI service that returns the closest matching font.

Challenges we ran into

It was tricky to fine-tune the font matching results and make sure the styling applied correctly in the editor.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In just a weekend, we got a working prototype where users can upload an image and see the identified font applied in real time.

What we learned

We learned how to work with Adobe Express APIs, design a minimal user flow, and connect frontend and AI features smoothly.

What's next for AI Font

Next, we’re adding custom font generation, text prompts, in-canvas screenshot capture, and more creative tools — all driven by user feedback.
