Inspiration

Our inspiration is the declining agriculture around Canada due to invasive species. It also contributes to different issues like food insecurity, employment loss, Lack of plantation, etc. Our team would like to present a solution that will benefit our main stakeholders like farmers and the government in terms of replenishment and precautions for their future farming business.

What it does

We created a prediction web application that predicts the population growth of invasive species in the coming seasons.Climate change has surged in numerous deadly circumstances around the world. In recent years, It has greatly disturbed the habitats of many species, including invasive species. Invasive species are one of the greatest threats to biodiversity, land, and agricultural productivity. Our application uses machine learning to predict the climate of the year and our constantly updating database displays the current habitats of the invasive species. with the help of 2 data sets we are able to predict the upcoming growth period, growth rate, location, and potentially infected places. With the help of our data analysis farmers, officials, and citizens can take precautions a lot prior to any damage. It will save our land, and money, and improve our agriculture by far off the margin.

How we built it

We built our web app using HTML, CSS, and Machine learning. We utilized different data sets around the provinces in Canada to predict the population growth of the invasive species.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge we ran into is deploying the dataset due to the authorization issues and time required to retrieve data from these authorized websites.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The accomplishment that we're most proud of is the good team collaboration and effort put into completing this project. One of the main proud moments is challenging ourselves to try something completely new like machine learning.

What we learned

We learned a lot about machine learning and implementation

What's next for AGrow

AGrow plans on delivering thorough prevention guidance catered to every location and provide different expense based quotas too.
