affrdble

affrdble is a AI-driven full stack web application where users can upload an image and the cost of their clothing item to get a cheaper alternative product similar to the one that they uploaded.

Inspiration

One of the team members wanted to get Birkenstock shoes and found a cheaper alternative at Cotton-On. We wanted to help other people find cheaper alternatives to the clothing items they desire.

What it does

How we built it

We built it using next.js with typescipt + swc to develop the frontend and backend. We used tailwind CSS and tailwind motion to style the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

The AI workflow was challenging. Going from processing API queries from Gemini API. Optimizing the custom search engine in Google Cloud Search API. Connecting backend to frontend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the website to fully function and run with good results. Achieving a successful AI platform.

Add a business side that would allow businesses to upload images of their products and give them the cheapest manufacturers to make these projects.
