Inspiration
Our team thought it would be cool to be able to fly a drone using voice commands on google glass and also show the heads up display on a card on the glass screen.
What it does
Using voice commands on google glass you can operate the drone and get data.
How we built it
Mount a phone and/or rasberry pi onto the drone. The phone would give GPS data to the glass. The rasberry pi would be an onboard operation system for the drone without using a separate computer to control. We also used the ros api to fly the drone. We used android studio to create the apps for google glass.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the drone operating system on the rasberry pi. Getting the drone data onto google glass. Getting google glass to connect to wifi/a computer/android studio. Getting catia to work.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Learning how different apis work together and how best to operate a quadcopter.
What we learned
How to use Catia, google glass, android studio, and rasberry pi.
What's next for "I can fly a drone with no hands, no arms"
Finishing our project and getting voice commands to work.
