Inspiration
The lack of accessibility on the internet
What it does
Improves accessibility of a site by introducing attributes that can be read through screen readers. Some attributes are generated by AI when they cannot be done programmatically
How we built it
Using Kotlin to interface with Claude and NextJS to interface between the Kotlin and the Client
Challenges we ran into
- Claude rate limiting
- Browser security limitations
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Provably improving the accessibility of a site through Chrome's lighthouse feature
What we learned
How to utilise Kotlin for real like applications
What's next for Access Now
- Adding more features to generate more accessible fields
- Manage security vulnerabilities
Built With
- claude
- kotlin
- ktor
- nextjs
- node.js
- typescript
