Inspiration
Recently, I got a Google Home Mini. I was eager to be able to use voice assistant features in order to effectively control my smart home devices, but was disappointed to find that there were limitations to the complexity of a command, and that creating commands using IFTTT was a needlessly long and complex process. We strive to fix this using our hack.
What it does
It allows the Google Assistant to process verbal IFTTT commands, and act upon them when the conditions are met.
Challenges we ran into
We currently lack the complete extent of coding knowledge to create a working prototype
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were determined to finish this despite an unexpected Wi-Fi disruption through effective improvisation. ;)
What we learned
Due to the CockroachDB workshop at our hackathon, we were informed of the various working parts that must be created in order for a successful end product.
What's next for AASmartCode
We plan to continue towards developing a working prototype, and potentially making it compatible with other voice assistants as well.
