8-Bit Chess Puzzles

Play through chess puzzles generated from your own chess.com games! Fight against time as you race to new high scores and learn new tactics and techniques from past positions you've been in!

Inspiration

I love playing chess puzzles, but find that the positions are often unrealistic! Also, many sites freeze you out of puzzles after playing a few, so I was hoping to create a free, fun chess puzzle playing experience based on your own games!

What it does

The project parses your chess.com games to create puzzles, then lets you play them in an arcade style!

How we built it

This is a Flask app that uses a Javascript for all the animations. Stockfish is used to evaluate positions and make puzzles after loading games using the chess.com API.

I'm really proud of creating a full, working product!

What's next for 8-Bit Chess Puzzles

More modes, better puzzles, and especially puzzle ratings/difficulty are in store for the future!
