Inspiration

Creating new project workflows, gathering all ideas, assessing risks and mapping out resources is a difficult task for most teams who either do not make an effort to follow best practices or just simply do not know how to plan themselves out properly. Pandora's board was built with these teams in mind to lend them a helping hand in expressing their ideas, to vote for their favourite ideas and efficiently manage their projects.

What it does

This Whiteboard Template contains 6 different individual modules, each for a different task:

1) The 6 Thinking Hats: Developed by Edward De Bono in 1986, this role-playing models requires the team members to wear one of the 6 coloured hats, each representing a different aspect of problem solving, each taking into account various factors. This enables the teams to properly assess the risks and calculate their impact

6 Hats

2) The 4L Retrospective: This is a techniques used by teams to assess and evaluate past performances. 4 different represent the 4 "Ls" which the teams use to show what they loved, what they learned, what they think could have been better , and what they thought was missing

3) Action List: To be used in conjunction with the 4L Retrospective. This board can be used to pull out the most voted cards from each column of 4L, decide on actions and ways to fix/support that particular, assign different resources and teams for that task and set a dues date. This is a great way to concretize your ideas.

4) Start,Stop,Continue: This is a simple retrospective method which can be used by teams to reflect upon their past projects and list down the items which they think should "Start" or be added, things which must be "Stopped" or removed and the things which they like and should "Continue". This is really effective method to get to know the mindset of your team members without much effort.

5) Effort To Impact Matrix: This is a decision making tools that helps teams manage their time effectively and efficiently. Each task/idea is graded or assesses based on its complexity, time required and most importantly the "impact" it creates in accordance with the amount of "effort" out into it. The quadrant in which each task resides in shows its importance and priority level.

6) The Golden Circle: This method was developed Simon Sinek who says, “people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it." The Golden Circle does a great job of asking the creators/panelists/teams the main motive behind their ideas, it asks important questions like "Why are we doing whatever we are doing?", "How will this help us or our target audience?" and "What am I serving on the table? What is the value that I am providing?". This helps teams properly plan out their ideas and prioritize the tasks which actually make sense

How I built it

The first step was research where I scoured the internet for various methods and templates, what each method meant and what impact it would have on a team's day-to-day activities. Once I finalized the 6 methods I wanted to recreate, I started designing each board one by one adding as much information and elements I could to make it easier for the teams to work with it.

How to test and use this template?

Download the JSON file from the Firebase Storage link mentioned below, create a new Board ---> Top Right 3 Dots Dropdown ---> Select Restore ---> Choose the JSON file from the picker ---> Thank me for making your meetings awesome :)

What's next for Pandora's Board

All the templates inside this board can be individually split into single templates or can be shipped as a single package. I am to add even more such templates in the future and fill the Pandora's box :)
