Inspiration

• In today's digital age, financial fraud is a growing threat that affects all generations. However, our focus is particularly on protecting the younger generation. Unlike the elderly, who are often targeted by more traditional scams, our generation faces unique challenges. For instance, our friends' accounts can get hacked without our knowledge, making us vulnerable to scams from seemingly trusted sources. This trust in our social connections can be exploited by fraudsters, leading to significant financial loss and personal distress. Therefore, it is crucial to address these specific vulnerabilities and provide tailored solutions to safeguard our generation from the evolving landscape of financial fraud.

What it does

• Detects Text and Audio to check for potential Financial Fraud

How we built it

• We created a website using Flask and used an API to prompt OpenAI if the text is a potential Financial Fraud. OpenAI gives the output of the probability and if its above 50% potential fraud, then we would go to our Suspicious page or if not go to our Safe Page to indicate the percentages.

Challenges we ran into

• We couldn't find other APIs to have a more specialize detection. Leaving us to good old OpenAI.
• Accent detection also was quite complicated so we decided to skip it for now.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• We completed the project with Bugs validated for!!!

What we learned

• It was our first time learning Flask and though we had backend experience with express, it was still a challenge we accomplished and that we are very very proud of.

What's next for 3Phish1Guard

• To finish up on the Accent detector and getting the speech to text to work. This is so we can have a more robust variety of inputs.
