The inspiration for this project came from a desire to break the limitations of traditional Formula 1 broadcasts. I aimed to create a unique fan experience by combining Augmented Reality and Google Maps' photorealistic 3D mapping. The challenge was blending interactive 3D racecourses with real-time exploration, providing fans the ability to relive historic races from new perspectives. I learned a lot about integrating AR and 3D visualization tools to enhance user experience. Overcoming technical hurdles, like smooth camera transitions and intuitive controls, was key in creating an engaging, immersive Formula 1 journey for fans.
