Inspiration

Make 3D art with just the tip of your fingers. Sure, we can draw on screens with Apple Pencil or a stylus—but how do we make 3D drawing accessible to everyone? We wanted to bring sculpting into your hands and make it as intuitive as doodling.

What it does

Users create 3D art by touching and holding the screen. As you move your finger through space, the app captures your gestures along three axes, letting you sculpt shapes in real time. The result isn’t just a flat sketch, it’s a volumetric, touchable creation you can spin, explore, and share.

How we built it

Lens Studio

Challenges we ran into

The Preview Version works extremely well - we filmed the video using it! However, the published version ran into memory issues, likely caused by the textures required for the instantiated drawing mesh.

We did not publish it to Lens+ due to having international students on the team and them not being able to work / gain revenue from out-of-campus jobs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned a completely new platform in just 24 hours, designing an experience that is not native to 2D world (we're soon gonna enter the immersive era!), and delivered a fully functional 3D drawing experience that we hope to share with everyone.
