Inspiration

Instagram is widely used worldwide, with the help of facial recognition we will understand how you feel today and create a painting avatar to express YOU!

What it does

Makes an image from nothing! Build an avatar of you based on sentiment analysis, we are using the camera to detect your face expression and based on that we add one dimension to the artwork that changes the end result.

How I built it

We scraped WikiArt.org for paintings in the style we are acquiring, trained our two models to get the view of portrait and abstract we are planning to do more styles as we are expanding our range (style and quality) to make this as a social app. Emotional detection is done using EmoPy.

Challenges I ran into

Time and Power, we needed more of each more of the latter, I wish we had it on the first day.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

First of all, making it alive!

We believe this could be a start of a social app that would help people express their feelings through images.

What I learned

GPUs are needed to train models faster, since working with images is very power intensive. Working with art is very fascinating, we are inspired by the state of the art of AI ART.

What's next for 124_InstaDCGAN

We will launch this as a mobile app that would update your social status everywhere! We are planning to add more dimensions (speech, tone, etc) to reflect on the output. We are planning to continue working on higher resolution images (when we have more GPUs) to create full piece of paining instead of creating smaller images.
