work people are weird and gross.
I have come to the conclusion that I would rather pack a lunch and keep it in an insulated lunch box than put anything in the fridge where I work. No, No it’s not that I think stuff will be stolen from me, it’s the manner people treat the refrigerators at work.
Each year, the last day of work before the New Year holiday it has become a little bit of a tradition for me to clean out the refrigerator. Only because it gets pretty dead in the office and I like to see just how disgusting the people I work with can be.
We have a couple downstairs in a large break room that the janitorial staff cleans twice a week, but upstairs in a mini break area we have a microwave and a small fridge. The fridge isn’t a tiny dorm size but more like 18 cubic feet for the executives to put their lunches and water in. I don’t personally use it because it is nasty.
This year I cleaned it out and threw out take out containers filled with mold, salad dressing that expired in 2008 and some left over mini chimis that we had at an event in the beginning of October! I filled 2 waist high garbage cans with crap. When I was finished there was one yogurt, mustard and ketchup in the fridge.
Fast forward to a week ago the date was 1-11-10, I was heating something in the microwave and wanted to see how my freshly cleaned fridge was fairing. I noticed an open yogurt with a spoon in it. Now, what you people do in your own homes is your own prerogative however when you put shit in a company fridge use some common sense. That is just weird and disgusting.
So the next day I peeked and IT WAS STILL THERE!!!! So I took a picture.

Then I had to document how long it was there.

Alas today I looked and it was gone… someone finally threw out their yogurt, I guess a week and a half is the limit to how long a open yogurt can stay in the fridge. Maybe they got hungry after I left and ate it. I’ll never know.

I used the camera I keep in my purse becasue it puts the date I took the picture on the picture. Next year I am totally taking pictures of the crap I throw out.
