You can always tell how well the War in Iraq is going by who Al-Qaida in Iraq kidnaps! From CENTCOM, the reports from General David Petreaus have been very positive. The troops in the various regions have worked hard forging alliances between the Sheiks and Tribal leaders and the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Police. Amazingly, this method of building up leadership from the bottom up has had a tremendous impact, or so it would seem.
The International Herald Tribune carried this story yesterday, “Iraqi Police: gunmen kidnap ten anti-Al-Qaida tribal leaders traveling home to Diyala province”. Continue reading ‘Ten anti-Al-Qaida tribal leaders kidnapped in Baghdad’
So, into whose hands are our fallen delivered, Satan? I thought we lived in “one Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all!” Dwight Eisenhower approved adding “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance on June 14, 1954 on Flag Day because:
“In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America’s heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country’s most powerful resource in peace and war.”
So, tell me again why we can’t say God at Military funerals? Continue reading ‘Someone stole God and I can’t find him!!’
The Democrats, especially the “Progressive [Socialist/Communist] ones, repeatedly tell us that we are making no inroads with the Iraqi. They say the Iraqi will not assume any responsibility for their own country as we try to help them on the path to their own Democratic government. I beg to differ as do the troops in the field. Here is one example from CENTCOM of how far the Iraqi local citizens have come in one area:

Back in March of 2005, I wrote a post called The Purple Heart. I wrote about what I felt was the need to change the requirements for awarding the Purple Heart because I feel there are men and women injured in battle who are denied the Honor of the Purple Heart when they deserve the Medal. The criteria were modified not too long ago to encompass terrorist related service; but, that modification was very minor and does not begin to address the issues our troops find themselves in as they fight the War on Terror on all fronts in today’s environment!
There are also medical reasons why the Medal criteria ought to be changed. There are benefits bestowed on Purple Heart recipients at the VA due to their having been injured serving their country in combat. One such instance is validated in a post I found there today. I refer to the “Walking Wounded,” the soldiers who served their country and came home with PTSD. If you do not believe that PTSD results in serious injury to our troops then maybe the post below will change your mind. Please read Mark’s comments: Continue reading ‘The Walking Wounded’
