Congressman Jim Moran is a Democrat from Virginia. Recently he remarked on the floor of the House of Representatives:
“Sure there’s less violence, but that’s because we’ve ethnically cleansed most of Baghdad ” – Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA)
Believe me when I say this man does not speak for all Virginians, including me, a former Democrat. When I hear or read about such absolutely absurd and callous remarks, I am sickened. This Congressman has endangered the lives of our deployed service members. He has undermined the efforts of the government to protect our National Security. He has aided and abetted the enemy by issuing unfounded and irresponsible remarks that the enemy uses as propaganda to draw in more new members who in turn will kill more of our troops and other members of the coalition!
The left has targeted Virginia. They want to do in Virginia politics what they have done in New York, California, and many other states. Here’s a warning to you, Congressman Moran, you may find that you have begun your own downfall. You and your socialists cronies will never make Virginia another socialist stronghold.
Do you really think you will be allowed to erode away our civil liberties in Virginia as you and others like you have done elsewhere in the nation? Think again. There was a reason we left the Union during the Civil War. It wasn’t just about slavery as many would like to make people believe. Do you think we haven’t noticed how you have gone to the minorities in Virgina and used past grievances and differences to divide the people of our state? Do you think the Black citizens of Virginia are so blind they can’t see a “Carpetbagger” in action?
Do you think the jobless in Virginia will continue to idly ignore the jobs lost to illegal aliens that you and your cohorts expend so much effort to help stay here? Do you think parents in Virgina will continue to accept the erosion of our school system because it is flooded by services to illegals who cost a fortune to provide free education while citizens have kids in trailers because money is redirected to these illegal aliens? Do you think our poor and needy will sit back and accept sub-standard Social Services because all the funds doled out to illegal aliens is depleting monies needed for the?
What about those of us who can’t afford decent car insurance and have to pay a fortune for uninsured motorist fee because of all those uninsured illegal aliens? Or, those who can’t find a decent home they can afford because the illegal population clans together and takes up all the cheaper rental property? Then there are those of us who can’t even get a credit card while banks are catering to the illegal aliens. Do you think we can’t see this happening. Do you also think we don’t see how many businesses cater to the illegal aliens with jobs because they will work for sub standard salaries and health care benefits?
You need to wake up to reality. We are sick of you all bleeding the Virginia economy. We are sick of your continual support of illegal aliens! We are sick of not being able to afford homes or housing while everything you and your like does helps everyone but those born and raised in Virginia or those hard working aliens who legally came here and are contributing to both our state and our nation! While you guys squander our tax revenue for the “illegals and the upscale residents” whole sections of different localities are allowed to sink deeper and deeper into neglect! It wasn’t until the legal aliens came here and used special financing, not available to those born and raised here, and started to rebuild many areas headed for slums that improvements could be seen.
While we are on that topic, what about all those aliens allowed to come here and take good state jobs that Virginians can’t get because of quotas? These are not low paying jobs. These are well paying jobs with medical, dental, and other benefits. Our tax dollars from state and federal taxes pay their salaries and benefits.
I could go on and on but I think my message has been presented well enough! Leave our veterans alone! You insult them and other veterans like myself! We do not and will not forget your words on election day! That is a promise you can count on! You and others like you may think you will do today’s vets the same way you did the Vietnam Vets! Think again! The days of our rolling over and remaining silent are long gone. As I have said before in other posts relating to the terrorists, I say to you too! “You have awakened the sleeping dragon” as the Japanese found when they bombed Pearl Harbor!!

Vets for Freedom condemns the recent comments by Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) on the floor of the House of Representatives in which he stated that American troops “ethnically cleansed Baghdad.” The United Nations, along with the rest of the civilized world, commonly refers to ethnic cleansing as genocide.
“Once again, Congressman Moran demonstrates how far from reality he has fallen”, said Executive Director for Vets for Freedom and Iraq Army Veteran, Pete Hedge’s. “Jim Moran has a long history of putting his foot in his mouth, but this time he has gone to far. The men and women who make up our nations military are decent and honorable citizens who bravely serve to fight our enemies who threaten our national security. Insinuating that they are war criminals is despicable.” He continued, “I call on all Members of Congress to follow Vets for Freedom in our condemnation of these irresponsible accusations, as well as on the constituents of the 8th District of Virginia to stand up to such nonsense and support the men and women whose very sacrifice allows Moran to run his mouth.”

I urge all Virginians to let the Congressman know how they feel about his comments. Irregardless of your political affiliation, your views on the war, your feelings about President Bush, too many Virginians have served and too many have died defending our freedom to let the careless and irresponsible remarks of Congressman Moran go unchallenged! Please let him know that we will never again do to our Veterans what was done to the Vietnam Veterans! Use the information above and let him know how outraged you are at his remarks!!
